Distillery Notes
Edradour Distillery, nestled in the highlands of Scotland.
Founded in 1825 by a collection of farmers, and by looking at the distillery you would be mistaken for thinking Edradour is a museum for the same equipment those farmers used to make whisky and you wouldn't be far from the truth, as the distillery maintains some of the oldest continually used distillery equipment in Scotland and is one of the only to still use worm tubs to condense their spirits and the only distillery to use a 'Morton Refrigerator to cool their wash after fermentation. both expensive to maintain, and in-efficient in comparison to more modern methods of production.
The Distillery is tiny, producing only around 90,00L per year which is as much as some larger distillery produce in a week.
