Suntory Royal Blended Whisky, Founders Ideal

Suntory Royal Blended Whisky, Founders Ideal

An extremely easy drinking whisky, bordering on dare we say... 'smashable' with sugar syrup, toffee, creamy vanilla, tobacco, espresso and chocolate.

A true Japanese whisky, and the precursor to Hibiki. A hard to find whisky that no longer gets the spotlight it deserves alongside its more popular siblings. The Whisky is a blend of malt whisky from Yamazaki & Hakushu and grain whiskies from Chita distillery.

The Suntory Royal Blend was released for Suntorys 60th anniversary and the last blend created by company founder Shinjiro Tori, with the bottle designed to resemble the Kanji for Tori, a traditional container for Sake.

Brand/Distillery Notes

The Suntory Royal blend was created by Shinjiro Torii to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of Suntory.

The whisky itself has gone through multiple iterations as newer distilleries have opened but was initially a blend of Yamazaki and grain whisky from their Osaka factory, which was swapped for grain in 1997 to their Uiski distillery and is now a blend of Yamazaki, Hakushu and The Chita whiskies.
