Distillery Notes
Located on a 500acre block of farmland WhistlePig distillery produces Straight Rye Whiskey but uses their position as a new distillery to see what Rye can be in the future and to innovate, rather than focusing on stallwart traditions and what Rye used to be. Their process follows three questions.
“How was this done in the past?”
“Have we learned anything since then that can make this better?”
“Is there another way to do this that’s worth exploring?”
These three questions allow them to continue to innovate with every whiskey they release.
The location of the distillery also allows WhistlePig to produce some full circle whiskey, where the growing of the grains to the capping of the bottle takes place at the farm, with even the spent grain going back to feed the farms resident animals.
